Two Square Miles News
Fall 2006 National and Regional Broadcast Dates on Public Television Dates have been set for the national and regional broadcast of Two Square Miles on public television in the U.S. Nationally, PBS affiliates will air the one-hour, ITVS/Independent Lens version of Two Square Miles on the night of Tuesday, November 28th. Most broadcasts will take place at 10 pm, but be sure to check local listings for your specific airtimes! In the Hudson Valley, WMHT will air the 90-minute "director's cut" on two dates in October. The broadcast will be preceded by a special episode of Insight, the WMHT public affairs show hosted by Marianne Potter. Insight will feature a half-hour interview with filmmakers Barbara Ettinger and Sven Huseby, and Hudson activists Linda Mussmann and Sam Pratt:
Fall 2006 Film Festivals Welcome Two Square Miles Two Square Miles has been accepted into a host of film festivals this Fall, including the New Hampshire Film Expo, the Ojai Festival (CA), and Film Columbia in Chatham (NY), along with a screening at Mass Moca in North Adams (MA). This summer, 2SM also appeared in the Nantucket Film Festival and Hearts and Minds Festival (DE). For more information, see our Screenings page.
Fall 2006 Educational Opportunities This fall, the film will be screened by Bard College undergraduate and graduate students as part of their course work, and also shown as part of WAMC Public Radio's November teachers' conference at the Linda Norris Auditorium. Educators are encouraged to make use of this film (which is pertinent to civics, land use planning, environmental science, social studies, political science, and numerous other fields) in their curricula and conferences. The filmmakers and community leaders featured in the film are available, schedules permitting, to attend screenings and participate in question-and-answer sessions, panels, assist with courses, and engage in other discussions of the issues raised by 2SM. Summer 2006 Two Square Miles in Nantucket Film Festival The film will screen as part of the Festival on Thursday afternoon and Friday evening. For times and ticket information, click here. Hudson activist Sam Pratt will be interviewed about the film by Plum TV on Thursday morning.
